Speaker Bio
Jason Ragogna is the Managing Director of Corporate Safety for Delta Air Lines at its world headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. Jason is responsible for setting strategy for Delta’s Occupational and Operational Safety Programs and ensuring the Health and Effectiveness of the Delta Safety Management System.
Jason joined Delta in June 2003. He spent his first 11 years in the Flight Safety department at Delta, of which the last 6 years were as General Manager providing oversight for the Air Safety Investigations, Employee Safety Reporting (ASAP) and Flight Data Monitoring (FOQA). In November of 2014, Jason assumed the role of General Manager, Safety Management System (SMS) where he was responsible for establishing the framework and implementing Delta’s SMS. In April of 2016, Jason assumed the role of Director Corporate Safety where he lead a team responsible for Delta’s SMS, Ground Safety Programs, and oversight of Alliance Partners. Currently, Jason is the Managing Director of Corporate Safety leading a team responsible for keeping Delta’s employees and customers safe.
Before working for Delta, Jason spent 7 years as an Air Safety Investigator with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). While employed with the NTSB, he investigated approximately 400 general aviation and air carrier incidents and accidents and authored recommendations to prevent future accidents.
Jason obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management of Technical Operations with a minor in Aviation Safety and completed a Masters Degree in Aeronautical Science with a specialization in System Safety, both from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Jason served as an assistant professor from 2000 to 2013 and instructed undergraduate and graduate level safety-related courses in the evenings.
Jason is a commercial pilot and holds single and multi-engine land ratings and an instrument rating.
